When I was ​starting out in my nail art journey, I really had no idea what I was doing. A lot of what was popular at the time were long, builder gel nails & I thought that was the way to go if I wanted to have "pretty" nails. I was using gel, dip powder, lacquer - you name it! I wanted to try it allllll.​​

 

Until one day I realized that was all doing more damage to my nails than I ever thought it could. In 2O22, out of a nowhere I found myself developing contact dermatitis and was suddenly allergic to gel nail polish. The consistent gel & dip removal process also ended up thinning out my natural nails and all I was left with were the shortest & weakest little stubs.​

I struggled hard to find inspiration to continue to do nail art on my short nails during this time. I even tried a few times to grow my nails back long too, but every few weeks they found a way to chip & break down back to stubs. I slowly started to realize maybe long nails just weren't for me & maybe it was time to truly appreciate and love my nails, no matter the length.​

 

As I struggled to find short nail inspiration, I somehow decided to become short nail inspiration for anyone else going through this cycle of feeling like their short nails weren't enough. They are!!!! & over the years, I've found myself feeling like the most creative version of myself when painting on my little stubs 🥹

 

My goal now is to not only encourage people to see the beauty in their own nails, but honestly, all parts of themselves that they sometimes feel like are not represented.  At the end of the day, I always want to champion & celebrate self care, natural beauty, & the ability to express yourself no matter what 🖤
